Discovery Of Widgets

I love widgets, cuz they make your blog so user friendly. So you could only imagine my excitement when I discovered a new widget (which had been always there). Yayyyyy!! 😬

You can follow me via email now, to get an email everytime I post something new. This way, you won’t miss a thing.

With Love.

P.S. – I know I’m not like a professional blogger who keeps you at the edge of your seat or anything of the sort. But it was really exciting adding that widget. Cheers! ✌🏻

P.P.S. – If you don’t know how to add widgets to your blog, here’s a quick guide.

Step 1 – Log into WordPress. Go to your blogsite (these are screenshots from a phone, it’s almost the same thing via a computer). At your right hand side bottom corner there’s a set of tools (customise button), press on it.

Step 2 – It’ll take you to a page like this. Click on widgets.

Step 3 – That’ll take you a page like this. Select wherever it is that you want your widget.

Sidebar – On the side of your blog (your right hand side).

Footer – At the bottom of your blog.

Step 4 – Press the button ‘Add A Widget’.

Step 5 – That’ll take you to a page like this. Select whatever the widget you like. (I’ve selected the one which allows your readers to follow your blog via email.)

Step 6 – Last but not least, it’ll open up a page like this (depending on the widget you want). Customise until your hearts content and press the button ‘Save & Publish’.

Hope that helps! Happy Widgeting! 😬

  1. I like this way of following by e-mail myself, because I like to visit blogs really, not just via “reader”, where every blog look s the same.
Also, there might someone like to follow without being a blog-writer her- or himself.

Some of the widgets are really worth a try, because they are usefull, some are just like decorating a room – and which woman in the world doesn’t like such? 🙂

    1. So true! In the reader there’s nothing eye-catching except for the featured image. Also, I don’t like the mobile view of my blog. I made it via the computer, and the view is very different. I wish I can make that.
I think widgets are like accessories! Which woman doesn’t like accessories? 😉

      1. HTML is a computer language that is used to code the presentation of a web page. For example, you can use it to format the text inside the widget (bold, italics, etc…), add images, and link to other pages.

  2. You are a lifesaver! I didn’t even know this was a thing! I was wondering how people follow who don’t have a WordPress account ha-ha! And apparently I have more people following than I thought?? Thank you so much! <3

    1. When someone follows your blog through email, s/he receives an email everytime you post something new. Anyone can follow you this way. Anyone who follows you on WordPress must have a WordPress account to do so, and they don’t get the emails.

  3. Yes widgets are great so many to get to grips with. I like using the image one to customise my side bar a bit. It also helps if you have an appealing image if there is a particular page you want the reader to see ☺
