Little Me

Have you listened to Little Me, by Little Mix? I think almost every girl can relate to that song.

I’ve been listening to this song five times in a row now (I’m not kidding). When I listen to it, I feel so good about myself. About how much I’ve grown. Everything I want to say to Little Me (everything in the song), I feel like I’m accomplishing all that now. I just wish I could say it to Little Me to empower that little girl and tell her that she’ll get there. To hang in there.

It really is a wonderful song.

If you are a little girl, reading this, wondering what’s wrong with your life. Go listen to this song. I’m sure when you are older, you’ll wish you could say it to your little self. Take the message to heart girl! You’re beautiful, wonderful, everything you don’t see. You can be beautiful, wonderful, anything you wanna be. You are amazing! ❤️

She lives in the shadow of a lonely girl

Voice so quiet you don’t hear a word,

Always talking but she can’t be heard,
You can see there if you catch her eye,

I know she’s brave but it’s trapped inside,

Scared to talk but she don’t know why,
Wish I knew back then

What I know now.

Wish I could somehow

Go back in time and maybe listen to my own advice.
I’d tell her to speak up, tell her to shout out,

Talk a bit louder, be a bit prouder,

Tell her she’s beautiful, wonderful,

Everything she doesn’t see,
You gotta speak up, you gotta shout out,

And know that right here, right now,

You can be beautiful, wonderful,

Anything you wanna be,
Little me
Yeah, you got a lot of time to act your age,

You can’t write a book from a single page,

Hands on the clock only turn one way,
Run too fast and you’ll risk it all,

Can’t be afraid to take a fall,

Felt so big but she looks so small,
Wish I knew back then

What I know now.

Wish I could somehow

Go back in time and maybe listen to my own advice.
I’d tell her to speak up, tell her to shout out,

Talk a bit louder, be a bit prouder,

Tell her she’s beautiful, wonderful,

Everything she doesn’t see.

(Know that right here, right now)
You gotta speak up, you gotta shout out,

And know that right here, right now,

You can be beautiful, wonderful,

Anything you wanna be, oh,

Little me
Little me
Tell you one thing I would say to her

I’d tell her to speak up, tell her to shout out,

Talk a bit louder, be a bit prouder,

Tell her she’s beautiful, wonderful,

Everything she doesn’t see.
(You got to) you gotta speak up,

(You got to) you gotta shout out,

And know that right here, right now,

You can be beautiful, wonderful,

Anything you wanna be,

Little me
I’d tell her to speak up, tell her to shout out,

Talk a bit louder, be a bit prouder,

Tell her she’s beautiful, wonderful,

Everything she doesn’t see.
You gotta speak up, you gotta shout out,

And know that right here, right now,

You can be beautiful, wonderful,

Anything you wanna be,
I’d tell her to speak up, tell her to shout out,

Talk a bit louder, be a bit prouder,

Tell her she’s beautiful, wonderful,

Everything she doesn’t see.
You gotta speak up, you gotta shout out,

And know that right here, right now,

You can be beautiful, wonderful,

Anything you wanna be,
Little me

With Love.

  1. What you say about this song rings very true. When I was 14, one of my close friends sent it to me. At first I was upset because I have a very gentle and soft voice and people always asked me to speak up (this sounds silly, but really, people used to ask me – ” Is that your real voice?” which made me feel I should rather just keep quiet. And I did. As you mentioned, I also wish I could have guided the younger version of me to just speak up and be proud of who I am. But it’s never too late to learn. Communication doesn’t necessarily mean speaking, therefore blogging!
Keep up your good work ♥️
