I am sure you meant it nicely but to use the word “differently able” for a person with disabilities just angers me. why do we think it’s ok to highlight the difference before we even begin to think of the person

I want to be a “ person WITH disability” a person first and foremost not differently able because I m a person first my disability which makes me different should not be before the person I am

I know I learnt that’s the best way to say it but my thinking changed once I“acquired” disability it now angers me. And when I think of all the people I referred to as differently Able then it’s hurts me .💗
