Personality is a word thrown around quite frequently. It’s an ‘important’ word. Not a word that someone would just ignore.
So, what exactly does personality mean and why is it so important?
Personality is basically your own way of being human.
It’s your thoughts, your feelings, your behaviour. Everything that makes you who you are.
If you have a great personality, you are most probably on the path of being successful (if you aren’t already 😉).
Most of the time however, you can definitely make your personality even better. Here’s some tips on how you can.
Know Thy Self (that’s my school motto so I had to use it)
Be aware of your qualities. Know what your good qualities and bad qualities are. You shouldn’t just ‘know them’, you should be able to differentiate them. It makes it easy to realize where exactly you need to work on, to be a better you.
If you have time on your hands, get it done right now. Take your notebook out (if you don’t have a notebook, 1. Get your own notebook 2. Use your phone notes app for now) and with the help of this list separately jot down your qualities. Remember to be true to yourself when you do this.
Be A Good Person
Be a good person. Period. Be loving. Be compassionate. Be reliable. Be helpful. Be the best version of yourself you possibly can be.
Spend your time and energy on actually being a good person, not proving you are good person. There’s a very clear difference between the two.
If you don’t commit yourself to making atleast one person smile each day, then your day is pretty much unsuccessful.
Smiling is a charity. It’s the purest and easiest form of charity you can give someone. Hasn’t it ever made your day when you are feeling down and someone just smiles at you so damn cheerfully? It has for me, for sure. I bet it must be the same for anyone else.
“Oh yeah! I got that covered. I know everything that’s going on in my friend’s life from her Facebook wall..”
“Done. Done. Doooooooone. I party every night till dawn. I’m basically the most social creature on the planet..”
I hope that’s not what crossed your mind when you read ‘be social’ because that is not what I meant at all.
The chances are your schedule is probably very packed. There’s no free time whatsoever. You tell yourself that being busy and focused will help you more than taking a break will.
The truth is that taking a break is as important as the work itself. Sometimes, even more. Taking a break doesn’t mean you go to work but don’t do anything other than sit on your chair and listen to some music. You need to do something completely different like hang out with your friends and forget all about your day-to-day schedule.
This will give your brain a much deserved break from all the chaos and help you do much better and productive work when you get back to your usual schedule.
Improve Your Reading And Writing Skills
Knowing how to read and write something properly in as many languages as possible boosts your personality immensely.
Read something everyday. Be it a novel, a book or an article. Being aware of what’s happening around you gives you something to discuss with other people. You come out as well informed and knowledgeable.
Knowledge is usually directly proportional to your personality. The more knowledgeable you are, the more vibrant your personality becomes.
Be Open To Challenges
Does a particular challenge scare you? The truth is, if it doesn’t it’s probably not important anyway.
While challenges are meant to be scary, they are also meant to be faced head on.
Don’t limit yourself. Don’t tell yourself that you can’t do something. Other people do that to us anyway, so why would you do it yourself? Don’t settle for anything less than the best.
Be you, be fabulous. 😉
With Love. ❤️
